Emine Özmete is a Professor at Ankara University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Social Services. She is the founder and manager of Center for Elderly Studies Research and Application (YASAM) of Ankara University. Her work focuses on topics such as family life quality, youth welfare, elderly welfare, elderly care, active and healthy aging, elderly abuse, self-neglect in old age, aging and migration, and intergenerational solidarity. She worked as an adjunct professor at Iowa State University Department of Family Studies and Human Development. She is a member of International Federation on Social Work, International Federation on Ageing and International Federation on Home Economic, European Network on Intercultural Elderly Care (ENIEC). She was a visiting fellow at Southampton University, UK under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Asghar Zaidi from July to August 2016. Between July and August 2018, she made a scientific study visit to elderly care institutions in Los Angeles, California, USA.
